About Grey
I am a photographer specializing in both digital & film mediums based out of the southeast U.S., but traveling often. I was born and raised in Atlanta and currently call Nashville home, where I am pursuing a Master of Divinity to study photography as an instrument for empathy, care and transformation. When I’m not behind a camera or working on my degree, I like to spend time playing with my rescue puppy, hosting loved ones at my dinner table, reading & writing, sitting in the sun, and trying my hand at growing herbs.
I have been a photographer for as long as I can remember, but professionally, I have been documenting love & people & stories for over 6 years. In 2023 I was recognized for my work in the documentary photography world as a selected attendee of the Chico Portfolio Review. My love for this work has been a constant throughout my life – it is an extension of who I am, how I think, and how I see the world. Thank you for being here.
Approach
My background in traditional darkroom and documentary photography grounds the approach I take to this work. These traditions taught me that photographs are never neutral; they are always selective, subjective, in dialogue. Which is to say that I believe photography is a way of knowing and being.
I am endlessly inspired by photography’s challenge to translate what is often invisible – stories, sounds, memories, emotions – into something visual. I look for light & texture, tension & stillness, connection & closeness, movement & pause, gentleness & vulnerability. I look for humanity and imperfection. In this sense, I believe that photography is fundamentally a practice of presence, empathy and paying attention.
When I’m holding a camera, my attention is guided by one question: what is interesting and beautiful here?
And throughout my years of photographing both personally and professionally, I’ve found that everywhere I turn there are limitless answers to this question. These things do not have to be curated as much as they have to be noticed. Which is to say: I believe that my job as a photographer is to observe, be fully present, and document truth and feeling as it organically unfolds all around me. I tend to avoid posing and intervening while I photograph — instead, I focus on inviting my subjects to just experience the moment as it is. I strive to create photographs that testify to what feels real and true and alive — genuine emotion, real memories — these are priceless, fleeting things.
I’ve found that the only thing I need from my subjects is their trust. There is infinite goodness and beauty all around us — we just have to pay attention to it.

Both film + digital coverage are included within all packages, and additional film & vintage-style Polaroids can be added upon request. Travel fees are quoted on a case by case basis.
